AMA with StealthEX CEO

On December 2nd, Maria Carola, CEO of StealthEX kindly agreed to come and do an AMA with us to talk about StealthEx and Solar. Elaine Egan, our Senior Brand Ambassador hosted the AMA in our Main Telegram channel.

Transcript of AMA

Q: Maria, could you introduce yourself please and maybe tell us a little bit about StealthEx and its various features.

Sure! So hello everyone. My name is Maria and I’m the CEO of StealthEX.

StealthEX is an instant cryptocurrency exchange — a service allowing users to tap into the liquidity of major centralized exchanges and DEXs without having to trust them. Centralized exchanges require creating a hot wallet on the platform and holding your funds there, plus are often restricted in many areas. StealthEX works as a sort of VPN for cryptocurrency exchanges, allowing everyone to swap over 600 assets in a custody-free manner, worldwide and with no limits.

Supported assets include Solar, of course!

Q: How long have you been CEO of StealthEX and have you worked with any other crypto projects previously?

Actually not for very long — I recently transitioned from being the Chief Marketing Officer to CEO.

My overall experience of working in crypto products is pretty vast though — it’s my sixth or seventh year working full-time in crypto, and it just so happens that the services I worked in previously were all wallets and exchanges.

Q: What does being a CEO involve? Apart from doing AMAs of course!

Ahhah, a good one. I don’t do AMAs very often anymore, to be honest. Still enjoy it very much though!

In my day-to-day life, I manage the development and management of StealthEX, so I spend 80% of my time on internal and partnership calls, compiling a roadmap for all the features and improvements we are about to plan and implement. Also, I write all the descriptions for these features, so it’s quite a lot of daily work tbh

Q: I’m interested to know a bit about the background of StealthEX who started it. What was the idea that gave birth to StealthEX?

StealthEX is actually on the market for quite a while — we recently celebrated our 4th birthday.

I’m not one of the founding members though, I joined the team 2 years ago, but with full support of the general ideas.

The thought behind it was very simple — none of us really wanted to deal with centralized and custodial services. We believe in the custody-free approach and think that people should pay attention to it, especially since we’ve seen quite some reasons for it recently with all the CEXs going down.

Q: How do you think all this drama with centralised platforms has affected the crypto world?

Well, let’s start with the fact that people lost lots of money — this is definitely a bad thing and should not happen, and I’m very sorry for everyone who was affected.

However it is a good time to think back to what crypto is actually supposed to be — a decentralized entity. With all the drama, it would be good to go back to the real roots and ideas.

Q: Just expanding on that point. What do you think is so important about non-custodial wallets and exchanges?

The most important thing is that you (as the user) are in charge. We don’t hold your money, we can’t access your account or anything like this (because there is none, essentially), and you are free to choose what you want to do with your funds.

After all, it’s your keys = your coins

Q: How has StealthEX evolved? How does the StealthEX of today compare with StealthEX when it started out?

StealthEX changed a lot. It was just a crypto-to-crypto exchange with around 150 assets listed when we started out. Now, we have fiat purchases, fixed and floating rate exchanges, and over 670 cryptocurrencies listed and a mobile app that came out recently

Plus, a suite of products for our partners — other services can integrate our API, a widget for the website owners, referral links and more.

The only thing that did not change is the main idea

Q: Do you have a particular target market or is StealthEX suitable for everyone? I mean who is your typical StealthEX user?

StealthEX is suitable for pretty much everyone. We have fiat on-ramping that’s useful for the people who want to onboard and start with cryptocurrency. We have hundreds of assets listed, so pretty much any community member can find their coins (including some rare ones, privacy coins and more). An app is handy for those with smartphones

Just one thing is that we have not released the iOS version of the app just yet, but this is on the way too

Q: So if StealthEx is suitable for everyone, how do you target non-techy people, maybe crypto newbies?

Honestly, you don’t have to be very techy to use StealthEX — just the basic understanding of how to create a crypto wallet is more than enough to start using it. People who are not in crypto just yet may be hesitant, so we have lowered the exchange and purchase amounts to the very minimum we could, there is no KYC for fiat to crypto purchases below 900USD per user.

Trying to get rid of all the intimidating issues.

Q: What do you think are the main advantages of StealthEX compared to your competitors?

I believe that one of the main advantages is that the service is very straightforward.

We try not to over complicate things, and have the interface as clean as it can be.

The next thing, of course, is that we hold the most assets compared to other instant exchange services — nobody really has over 600. Low min limits and no upper limits is another great thing, helping all sorts of users — those who just want to test with a small sum, or those exchanging thousands.

Q: With all these great features is there anything left for StealthEx to come up with? I mean are there any new products or services on StealthEXs launchpad? Is this top secret? If you tell us, will this channel explode!

Ahhahah well, there is, to be honest our roadmap is very extensive right now. We’re planning more partners for fiat purchases — this way we’ll offer more currencies.

Our partner suite will be expanded and improved (some new affiliate tools upcoming)

We’re also planning on the selling feature so yeah, there’s lots to do.

Q: My final question isn’t really a question as such. Just a chance for you Maria to give us your opinion on a couple of things.

As we are coming to the end of 2022 what events or trends stood out for you most of all? What do you personally think 2023 will bring for the crypto ecosystem?

ohhh, this is an interesting one. We’ve all been down for the majority of 2022, it was a tough year for the crypto space to be honest. We’ve seen many good companies go down, but also many that we won’t really miss. I believe that 2022 should be a lesson to all of us

For the people working in crypto — that we should always be ready for the winter. For the people just in crypto — to always be cautious and attentive. As for 2023, I just hope that the world would stabilize (this is really a lot to ask, I know), and then crypto will too. Besides, as I have said before, the new year can be a good starting point to think about self-custody and protecting your funds.

Many thanks to Maria for a very lively and informative AMA. We look forward to working with StealthEX. If you’ve enjoyed this article please give it some claps and share it.
