4. Asia’s largest blockchain event, the Korea Blockchain Week was held on August 7th in Seoul and was attended by Nayiem and Tief.
The Korean community is one of Solar’s largest communities, therefore it made perfect sense for Nayiem and Tief to attend.
The event was well attended with more than 7,000 participants and over 120 speakers. The range of topics discussed included Web 3.0, DeFi, metaverse, and gaming.

Attending the Korea Blockchain Week helped grow Solar’s network of trusted contacts in the fields of security auditing, game development, advertising, legal, DeFi and other industry experts across the crypto and blockchain space.
Some of the additional partnerships that came out of the event include Adshares, offering digital advertising services in District 53 and Entersoft, auditing services for smart-contracts.

Upcoming Conferences

  1. The Blockchain Land conference is another way to help Solar increase brand awareness and SXP adoption in Mexico. To help us penetrate this market, Tief will participate in this conference from October 5–7.
  2. The growing prominence of Web3 in Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines, prompts Solar to continue its advancement and innovation through District 53 which will soon be introduced in the Philippines this October/November of 2022. Further details to be announced.

3. Solar will participate in the Philippine Web3 Festival, a week-long premier event happening in Manila on November 14–18, 2022. The festival will cover GameFi, NFTs, DeFi and will bring the brightest minds and most renowned thought leaders in the Web3 industry to Manila.

Go English Scholarship Program

This program provides a massive opportunity for us to grow the Solar brand and increase SXP adoption in Latin America.
Tief spoke about this in a recent AMA which you can listen to here.
Part of the initiative started with the launch of the Go English Scholarship Program where Solar Network delegates and the community have donated over 9,000 SXP to help fund English classes for 53 underserved people in the state of Sonora, Mexico.
This program will create network effects for us, as new users adopt SXP across Mexico.
We have published content about this program but if you haven’t had a chance to check it out please read the Solar Blog or watch our YouTube channel.

We are still working towards reaching our goal of sponsoring 53 students and your SXP donations can be sent to this address SMaaJEGM5sqeURjk7aMhwymwo5FFr4BjD8.

Additionally, in tandem with the launch of this program we have opened up three new Telegram groups for our Latin American, Mexican and Argentinian communities.
Go English scholarship applicants must submit a video in the relevant Telegram group explaining why they deserve the scholarship. You can check out those videos here.

Upcoming Marketing Plans

  2. The benefits of partnering with ChangeNOW will be shared further with the community through an AMA. More details will be announced soon.

  4. We are in the process of creating a District 53 mascot that will have a backstory to help build a unique and distinct brand personality for the Solar metaverse. The mascot character will be based on the Twitter Poll results here Dunkin the Dragon received the most votes from the community. You can see those results here: https://twitter.com/Jeffreytief/status/1559428191558586368
  5. Capture The Flag event was launched on September 1th.
It involved a maximum of 30 players who were placed in teams.
Each team had to capture the flag from their opponent’s base and return to their own base and click on their own flag.
Points were collected by capturing the flag or by killing opponents. Weapons and other tools were also collected by opening chests in the map.
Capture the Flag event winners shared a prize pool of 1000 SXP.

Participants were pitted against one another whilst speeding through thrilling obstacles.
Participants who first reached the finish line first shared a prize pool of 1000 SXP.
The event was considered a major success with fun for both spectators and participants.
We will be bringing more D53 events your way so don’t miss out keep following District 53 for updates.

7. Land sales are auctioned on District 53 website: https://district53.io/auctions
The initial land sale was hosted on District 53 domain using a traditional method where a user can link their game address.
The land was automatically assigned to the in-game wallet address of the auction winner.

Auction winners can explore and build on their land without the fear that someone might destroy their property.
They can display ad banners to earn rewards from anyone visiting their property or build a farm, mine blocks and sell these resources on Xeggex or in the in-game marketplace.

Auction winners can place treasures on their land or create chests with a lock to store resources.
Once value is established on the land, it can be sold directly on the D53 marketplace.

The virtual land will be converted to NFT’s on the SXP blockchain as soon as it becomes available.
Until then, Dokdo will be manually addressing land owners.
90% of the earnings from initial land sales will be burned on the SXP blockchain.

Other trades on the District 53 Meaning that 90% will go to the seller, 5% will be burned and 2% will go to the Solar Foundation wallet and 3% will go to the Dokdo team.

  • The in-game marketplace is now online in District 53.
The next step will be to list resources such as coal, bricks, weapons and any unique items on the Xeggex exchanges.
This means that if you are looking to build but don’t have enough time to look for resources, you will be able to buy these resources from other users on the Xeggex exchange.
  • A special D53 update will be released before the Philippine Web3 Event that will allow users to earn SXP within the game.
  • More games are currently being developed to be implemented in the District 53 Metaverse.
  • A mobile version of District 53 is in the making and will be released by Dokdo in the upcoming weeks.
  • Weekly events will be organised and announced on several platforms that will attract more users while providing the opportunity to win more SXP.
  • AdShares plugin will be integrated on the District 53 platform and can be utilised by any D53 server owner.
  • A documentation will be released that will allow delegates, developers or any other user to build plugins or custom mods for District 53 servers.
  • A new website of District 53 will be released with many new features and with a new look and feel.

On behalf of Dokdo, we would like to thank everyone that has participated in building and testing District 53 during the beta phase.

NFT Marketplace

Delegate NFT has been working the last few months on the NFT Marketplace which was mentioned in the roadmap on the official Solar website.

While we truly appreciate that 3rd party individuals are building on the Solar Network, we previously had to deal with certain negativity from within the community regarding projects that were not in our control.

Since we can not control these projects and cannot guarantee the maintainability, expected time-frame while creating an unfair advantage towards other delegates and community contributors, we have decided that in our next website update to be released on Friday, we will be removing any roadmap items that are currently not in our control.

Thank you for reading!

Stay tuned for another blog to be released on Wednesday the 5th of October which will cover updates on the following items:

  • Latest Core Update
  • Info about foundation funds on protocol level
  • Information regarding exchanges and the mainnet swaps
  • Partnerships

With the last Q3 update to be released on Friday the 7th of October which will cover updates on the following items:

  • The Solar Blockchain Foundation
  • Job opportunities at Solar Blockchain Foundation
  • New website release
  • Introduction to projects on Solar
  • Events Calendar
  • Solar Merchandise Shop
  • Update on roadmap items and whitepaper
  • Mobile wallet and Browser wallet
