Solar Enterprises at Binance Blockchain Week: Reflections and Insights

Solar Blockchain Foundation (https://solar.org) has been a long-term partner of Binance, and a sponsor of major events organised by the world's leading exchange.
This year, Solar enabled the Solar Enterprises to shine at Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai - and showcase all of our products and services - from the Solar Card, through BrighterVPN, to tymt and District 53.
And prepared did we go! Armed with a dedicated Landing Page, a bunch of stickers, leaflets and roll-ups - and a brand new “infomercial reel”.
If you haven’t seen it yet - you should:
Solar Enterprises Reel 2024
I have returned from the Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai with a clear sense of accomplishment.
Representing Solar on a stage of this scale was both energising and a bit daunting. I’ve been to crypto conferences before, but there’s something about Binance—the name, the scale, the international pull—that makes you feel you need to bring your absolute best, down to every detail in our materials and messaging.
Going in, I hoped for real connections with people I’d only known online, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Connecting with Giants and Diverse Audiences
As a speaker, I had the unique opportunity to access the exclusive Speakers’ area, a space where industry titans roamed. Conversations with Sebastien Borget, government officials, and top global KOLs like CryptoBirb and KongBTC were invaluable. Beyond these high-profile figures, the event attracted an incredibly diverse audience, both in geography and interests.
For example, visitors from controlled countries were drawn to BrighterVPN as an immediate tool for digital privacy and freedom.
What Nayiem found especially valuable was connecting with many individuals, entities and government organisations and being in talks with many Binance representatives, including Changpeng Zhao or Richard Teng. He was impressed by the amount of interest for VPN in the Middle East. We came back as partners with many potential entities that want to incorporate the VPN service into their products.

It is clear that there is a high interest and need for the Solar Card. Our offering proves very competitive in terms of pricing. There is a huge interest in the Middle East countries, including Dubai and Bahrain. Attendees from Ethiopia and Nigeria were captivated by the financial empowerment offered by the Solar Card.

We were delighted to confirm our vision for tymt™ to become a massive asset to the gaming industry. Going beyond a game launcher— tymt will become a versatile, community-influenced social and gaming platform.
Crypto Adoption and Community Growth
Looking at the event as a whole, it is a testament to the growing adoption of crypto. Imagine the world’s biggest exchange renting out the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai and closing with an “all drinks on us” party at one of the city’s most exclusive venues. It sends a loud and clear message of confidence to the wider market. Beyond the glamour, though, the diversity in the community was striking. We saw everyone—from spot traders and developers to gamers and influencers. The event had something for everyone, illustrating the broadening reach of crypto.
Reflecting on Solar’s Ethos and Message
Presenting Solar’s vision—our focus on transparency, empowerment, and “brighter” values—always commands respect, but only when people get to the heart of what we’re about. There’s no getting around it; many attendees were laser-focused on the financial and technical benefits—RPCs, staking pools, and revenue-generating opportunities. With EVM compatibility coming soon, Solar is destined to gain a lot more utility for developers, investors and gamers. But there’s a growing audience interested in sustainability and social empowerment, and for them, the “brighter blockchain” ethos truly resonates. Still, this experience showed me that we might need to go back to the drawing board on a few messages and benefits, ensuring we clearly communicate why Solar is different.
Navigating Challenges and Looking Ahead
One significant challenge was the classic “chicken and egg” dilemma with tymt™. Do we build an audience first, hoping to attract blockbuster games, or do we focus on securing a big game first to draw the audience? These kinds of reflections are invaluable for shaping our strategy, especially as we consider scaling products like our Mobile Wallet. Observing other projects gave me fresh ideas, both tactical and strategic, that could help Solar grow more effectively.
A Surprising Confidence Boost
This may sound minor, but even what I wore impacted my experience. A last-minute decision to wear a unique, cyberpunk-inspired hoodie—a mix of Jedi, Dune, and Assassin’s Creed—proved to be the best icebreaker. People approached me as a “curiosity” first, then as CMO. This made every interaction feel natural, with a feeling of openness and excitement. For someone who’s typically introverted and reserved, it was a huge confidence boost and a reminder that “being radically myself opens doors.”
A Bright Path Forward for tymt™ and New Partnerships
The conference has also redefined tymt’s future. A few key partnerships forged in Dubai are pushing tymt beyond our original vision of a game launcher that could rival Steam. We’re now thinking bigger. With our Messaging system, tymt™ could evolve into a social hub, even challenging platforms like Discord. We’re also exploring possibilities for gamers to monetize in-game video content, making tymt a potential alternative to Twitch.
Memorable Encounters and Cultural Connections
Moments from this week will stick with me for a long time. A standout was meeting founders and influencers from Ethiopia; our conversation moved quickly from business to a lively exchange about Abyssinia and Ras Tafari, even getting close to breaking into dance. On a more professional note, connecting with the Verasity team was incredibly rewarding—their professionalism, openness, and honestly felt like making real friends. And a personal highlight: after my speech, Adrian Zdunczyk, one of crypto’s biggest influencers, approached me. That felt like the audience giving me a prize. Conversations with Sebastien Borget about SANDBOX were also a definite high point.

Closing Thoughts
As I look back on the conference, I feel Solar’s direction has been validated, but also challenged. Tymt™ is poised for a bright future, with new opportunities we hadn’t even considered before. I came back with a mind buzzing with ideas and a renewed commitment to sharpening our strategy.
Binance Blockchain Week has been a great checkpoint, reminding me that while the journey is just as important as the destination, there’s also a real audience hungry for what we’re building.
