Dear community!
We’ve all been waiting for this moment for a long time, when a new star is born!
The Solar Project and the SXP Mainnet are now officially live!
What is SXP mainnet?
The SXP mainnet is a layer-1 blockchain that uses the Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus model powered by Solar Core with SXP as its native coin powered by the Solar community.
The SXP mainnet enables the many features and utilities that Solar is able to offer and which allows SXP to compete with many well known projects in the blockchain industry.
Solar Core
Solar Core is the beating heart of the SXP blockchain.
Solar Core started as a fork from the ARK Core v3 codebase and has been thoroughly reworked and enhanced with new features over the past few months to form its own production blockchain by our core developers alessiodf & cactus-15–49, also known as delegates gym & cactus1549.
Their work has made Solar Core a fast and secure blockchain which has been intensively tested on both their private testnet and by 53 delegates on the public testnet, which has been live these past weeks.
Since the start of the Solar Core development, over 1845 files in the codebase have been changed and 31252 additions have been made to its codebase. These changes not only contribute to the security of our blockchain, but also include several protocol enhancements and preparations for utilities and features that are unique to Solar.
Due to the work of the core developers and the testnet delegates, we are now ready to launch our mainnet for SXP with a rich set of features.
The core developers will continue to monitor the security of the SXP blockchain and improve it with many new features to come after the mainnet launch!
Exchange Support and Announcements
SXP is currently listed as either ERC20 or BEP20 token on more than 48 exchange platforms. To ensure a smooth and safe swap from ERC20/BEP20 to mainnet, we are going to dedicate our time this week to continue collaborating with exchanges to finalize the integration of the SXP mainnet.
Please note that we have a non-disclosure policy with exchange platforms.
This means we are not allowed to announce the actual swap date for 3rd party platforms.
We believe that many of these exchanges will start making announcements within a couple of days.
If you wish to swap earlier and safely store your new SXP in your own wallet, we advise you to send your ERC20 or BEP20 SXP to your MetaMask or Trust Wallet.
If you are an exchange operator or wallet provider, we are in most cases already in contact with you. Otherwise please contact us using the official communication channels or learn more about the mainnet integration by visiting the following link:

Swap from SXP BEP20/ERC20 to SXP Mainnet
As shown in our roadmap. The swap and mainnet will not go live at the same time.
With the launch of the mainnet, we are going to perform a planned internal audit of the swap module, to ensure that everything works as designed.
While this has already been proven and tested on testnet together with an audit from CertiK, it is important to double check our own implementation before opening the bridge for exchanges and users.
We aim to finalize the internal audit within 48–72 hours from mainnet launch. Starting from this moment, users will be able to create transactions on the SXP mainnet.
While the documentation for the swap is already live, Solar is going to release a new blog post within 48–72 hours that will fully describe the process of migrating your SXP to mainnet.
We advise users to be aware of scams and fraud.
We’ve noticed the increase of fake telegram groups, fake medium accounts and fake websites that claim to support the swap and offer a bonus for migrating your tokens early.
Please do not send any of your tokens to random addresses or fake contracts.
The safest way to store your SXP is by holding it in a wallet from where you own the keys like MetaMask or Trust Wallet, these wallets will allow you to use our official decentralized SXP swap bridge.
The swap announcement will be made from our official blog and official Solar website.

Download Wallets
While waiting for the swap announcement.
We advise users to download our latest wallet from the official Solar website or Solar Github repository.
After downloading the app, make sure to create a profile and wallet address for the mainnet network.
The mainnet address always starts with an S and is 34 characters long.
The wallet address is later needed if you are going to use the decentralized swap.
Make sure to keep a secure backup of your BIP39 mnemonic key, which is usually 12 or 24 words long. If you lose your mnemonic, no one will be able to recover your funds. It is your own responsibility to make sure that the mnemonic is safely stored and that only you can access the keys.
The passphrase can be used later to restore your wallet in newer versions from the Solar Desktop Wallet, Mobile Wallet and Browser Wallet.
A newer version of the Solar Desktop Wallet will be released shortly, which will support the Ledger App.
The Solar Desktop Wallet can be download from our official website:

Or compiled from source:

Voting
With the Solar Desktop Wallet, you can vote for delegates that contribute to the blockchain, community and the Solar project in general.
By voting for certain delegates that you prefer it enables you to guide the project in a certain direction. Usually delegates offer a percentage of their forging rewards to their voters.

Please note that voting will be enabled on protocol level at block 75,632.
This blockheight will be reached in around 7 days from mainnet launch.
The current block-height can be seen on the front page of the official block explorer.
What’s next?
The first quarter of 2022 is almost coming to an end with only a few roadmap items left that will be completed by the end of the quarter.
Solar has fulfilled the roadmap as planned within the proposed time frame.
In our previous blog article (https://blog.solar.org/get-ready-for-mainnet-7dda8ed2cb06), we’ve mentioned that Q1 lays the initial foundation for many utilities that will be offered on the SXP Blockchain.
Q2 will be one of the most exciting times that will open a whole new universe for developers, gamers, artists, creators, individuals and enterprises to explore Solar on a different level.
The following items, features and utilities are expected to be released in Q2.
- Mobile Wallets and Browser Wallets to support more than 95% of all platforms.
- A Blockchain Core audit will be performed in Q2.
- The initial version of our unique on-chain token protocol.
- A rich documentation will be released for creators and developers to explore the on-chain token protocol.
- The Alpha version of the Solar Metaverse will be available.
- A Beta version of the NFT marketplace will be introduced that will seamlessly connect to our token protocol.
- Solar has several partnerships and 3rd party integrations already planned for this quarter.
- An updated Whitepaper will be released that will explain Q2 roadmap items in more detail.
For more information, stay up to date by regularly visiting our roadmap through this link.
Until then, we wish you good luck with our upcoming Easter quest.
And stay tuned for more exciting updates!
Thank you for reading! And special thanks to the community and the delegates that made this all possible!
